At IDF Beijing, Pat Gelsinger disclosed that Intel’s embedded business division will be offering Nehalem EP-based Intel® Xeon® processors – codenamed Jasper Forest – in early 2010 with 7-year long lifecycle support. The processors are designed specifically for embedded, communications and storage applications, such as ultra-dense blades, NAS and SAN, to deliver optimal performance per watt and high integration of I/O and memory for reduced real estate. Jasper Forest will be offered in single-, dual- or quad-core designs; ranging from 23- to 85- watts. Learn more here.
